If you have an exercise machine at home, there are more chances that it lies idle for long without being used. According to a survey conducted by Consumer Reports last year in the country it was found that there are about 40% of people who have a home gym at home. Such gyms are not only equipped with hi-tech exercising machines, but also have a state of the art technology fused into the very equipment.
But if you come to think of it, do full justice to the machines by exercising enough on them? Is your body aching to get a good workout but your laziness is coming in to the way? If you answered yes both the questions, then it’s affirmative that your machines are being underutilized. Research indicates that if people have been working out earlier, the same people are not working out now as they tend to procrastinate or avoid it completely. In the end, your body suffers.
A home gym leads to a loss of interest
Most of the people across the globe are concerned about their fitness. They do so to remain healthy while at the same time, lose weight and get rid of the excessive fat. If your new resolution is to lose those extra pounds, then it’s time to stop making excuses and start following a strict exercising regime.
To be more regular, you usually land up buying various equipments for exercise and have a mini-home gym at home. But when these equipments are at home, you feel less motivated in terms of exercise. Nothing can quite match the environment and the professional feel of a paid gym when it comes to carrying out your exercises.
Having a right home gym
According to the reports from the American Heart Association, having strong muscles is usually on the top of chart when it comes to following a healthy regime. Usually people tend to exercise as often as twice a week or more number of times on their own home gym to attain better health and a stronger physique. Here are some common reasons which make people tilt in favor of a home gym:
-
- Easy, convenient and you do not have to travel to the fitness center every day
-
- It also helps in saving a lot of time as you can fit in your regular workouts in your busy schedule. You can dedicate some time regularly to exercising. It also enables you to save time as you don’t need to waste time waiting to get the equipment ready for specific workouts
-
- You get the required privacy as you don’t require to share the exercise lockers/rooms
-
- As you have invested a lot of money, you are motivated to use it regularly. If you have a home gym, then you are likely to work-out more often than when you do not have one.
- You can save a lot of money which you would have spent on your fitness center every month. You will also be spending more money if you are travelling to and fro from the gym. Though you will be investing initially in the home gym but in the long run you will end up saving a lot of your hard earned cash
While these reasons can be a source of much needed motivation to own a home gym, its more of a personal choice one needs to make to ensure that everything goes on the right path. Don’t fool around with your health; after all, being fit should be the top priority for every individual.
